Abstract: An incredible lakefront home in New Durham, New Hampshire, offers a unique view from inside a charming indoor "bird's nest".

Built in 2005, this spacious four-bedroom home features a treehouse-style structure that appears to be growing out of the living room floor.

"The Bird's Nest - now known as the library - overlooks the great room and has an outdoor balcony with a view of the lake," said Joy Pheeney Messineo, listing agent for Maxfield Real Estate.

This was the homeowner's dream home, and it has a stunning interior," she said. "The stonework is phenomenal," she says.

First, in the great room, there is a three-story-high fireplace made by master stonemasons. This dramatic space is surrounded by 20-foot-high windows that flood the room with natural light.

"You have to see the house to fully appreciate the artistry of its design," Messinho says." It is so different.

The 4,415-square-foot house sits on nearly an acre of land with 100 feet of lake frontage-a crystal-clear spring controlled by a dam. The area is a playground for boaters, water skiers and fishing enthusiasts.

Time travel back to the Wild West at this Old Town Square in Colorado.

"If this house were located on Lake Winnipesaukee, it would cost up to $6 million," she said. "This place is a real hidden gem," she says.

The multi-story home's stone and wood style was designed to bring the outdoors inside. The gorgeous look flows seamlessly throughout the home.

The chef's kitchen, for example, features custom wood cabinetry, exposed beams, a large island, cathedral ceilings and cozy window seating. It's the perfect place to entertain guests.

"Everything in this house is very high-end," Messineo says." The floors, stairs and banisters are great. It's just an amazing place."

Upstairs, the main suite boasts a cozy fireplace, sitting area and French doors that open to a private balcony.

On the lower level is an additional living area with a second stone fireplace and two bunk rooms, each with its own bathroom.

Along a forested path, there is a family suite with kitchenette, private entrance and balcony with a peaceful view.

In addition, this private lot is adjacent to 86 acres of conservation land.

"There's nothing like this house," Messinho says." The photos really don't do it justice because you're missing the whole feel of the house. Everyone who has seen this house has treated it like a second home and really appreciates its uniqueness."
